Their sadness was mixed with hatred as they turned to look at Darryl. They were doing fine in the battle before he came along. The Red Sparrow Queen was dead because of him, and they had no choice but to surrender to the White Tiger King. There was no way he could wash his hands of that. However, they could not do anything to him with the White Tiger King present.

The White Tiger King was in good spirits. He waved his hand and said, "From now on onward, we're all family! Come, let's toast to that!" For thousands of years, the White Tiger King had always viewed the Red Sparrow Queen as a thorn on his side, and he was pleased that the thorn had finally been removed.

Everyone, including Darryl, raised their glasses and drank from them. Even though he was smiling, he found the whole thing insufferable.
