Spectral shrieks echoed from the bare forest, where trees had been ripped from their roots.

The people who had crossed over were afraid that those creepy things might attack them.

But the shapeless figures, the tall humanoid shadows, the weird creatures crawling or walking on hundreds of legs, didn’t even glance their way.
