Kendrick smiled ambiguously. "Leonard, you've been so sincere. How could I let you down?"

Leonard smiled in response, but he secretly grumbled to himself. Kendrick was one tough person to please.

First, Kendrick had him get rid of Chuck. Now, he had to give Well Spring Pharma to Yvonne.

He suddenly had a thought. He looked at Kendrick with more intent. Had Well Spring Pharma been Kendrick's target right from the beginning?

Looking at where things stood at that moment, Yvonne had come out as the winner without any effort!

Kendrick seemed to have noticed. He asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"N-Nothing …" Leonard hesitated.

"I was just thinking about how well you're treating Yvonne. She has gotten lucky by saving you."

Kendrick cleared his throat. "You're wrong. I was the lucky one to have met her. If not, I wouldn't be sitting right here right now and talking to you."
