Chapter 139 —Every minute would weigh differently

Gabriel Ordoñez entered the office without needing to be announced. Roman was already waiting for him. He was standing by the window, arms crossed and staring at the garden, although he wasn't seeing anything.

“Good morning, Roman, I have news from the court.”

“Well?” he asked without turning around.

Gabriel closed the door carefully, without sitting down yet.

“I'm sorry, but what we already suspected has been confirmed.”

Roman slowly turned to face him.

“Deportation?”

“Yes,” replied the lawyer. “It's inevitable.”

The silence in the room grew heavier.

"The court has already notified Immigration. The civil registry has annulled the marriage. Legally, Aylin no longer has any ties that justify her residence and, therefore, her continued stay in this country.
