Chapter 126 —Sometimes, it doesn't go wrong. Just different.

Narrator:

The afternoon was slowly drawing to a close, bathing the office in warm tones that failed to ease the tension between them. Roman stood by the window, his back straight and his gaze fixed on some invisible point. Aylin watched him from the sofa, uneasy, sensing that something in him was hardening more than it should.

“I'm going to tell Sasha the truth,” he said suddenly, without looking at her. “I'm going to tell her who Juliet really is.”

Aylin blinked, as if the statement had come too quickly for her. She sat up straight, resting her elbows on her knees, and looked at him with a frown.

“Now? Just like that? Roman, do you think that's the best thing to do?”

Roman turned slowly toward her. His face showed no anger, but it did show determination. A determination that left little room for other options.
