The echo of Manuela's words still resonated in Amelia's head as she sat in the dining room, completely broken.
"Why did she say that? Could the sample they used have been Sergio's? How did they do it? Was he the accomplice?" those questions swirled in her mind, and she racked her brain thinking of the answers, but none came.
She wanted to tell him the truth, but it was difficult for her to speak about that subject, because she had tried to keep it hidden in the deepest recesses of her mind—only
