CHAPTER 22— DON'T HATE HIM
“Come on...it’s time to return.” Kiara pouted at the stony path they took on their way to the market and then at the bracelet around her wrist. “Why?” “Because Zique said so like an hour ago.” “But I—” “It doesn’t matter, we can come back another time.” “And what if he says no?” “He won’t, come on.” “Bu—” “Kiara...” Gabe groaned. “You can be annoyingly ‘annoying’ at times.” “I know.” Kiara responded sadly. “You’ve told me so many times since we’ve been here.” “Then at least shut up for once.” “I-I’m sorry.” Gabe groaned again, looking over at her as she took tiny and hesitant steps forward. “You’re pouting again, I’m starting to think you do it in order to look pitiful. “You didn’t eat breakfast.” Zique leaned against the counter, watching the omega as she munched on an apple. “Why?”“I-I...I wasn’t hungry.”“And yet you’re shoving that apple down your throat as though you haven’t eaten in a week.”“Well that...” Kiara looked down at the last apple she had. Kiara walked her way into her room, her eyes observing the emptiness inside. She had nothing in her possession but that bag of clothes he had brought her, the bracelet around her wrist and her pride which he had completely shattered last night.She thought she had forgotten about it, but she couldn’t. Zique folded his legs as he sat on the floor, his eyes darting around the empty room as though this was the very first time he was seeing it.It was just as dull as he remembered it, the white walls with nothing to decorate it and a room as empty as his heart.It was his parent’s, he thought he could forget them by throwing out their things, but the atrocity of that damn day still lived in his head. Kiara shuffled back on the floor, but froze when he stooped in front of her. She expected him to curse at her, to call her weak, to tell her to go back to her cage, but instead he grabbed her face and abruptly connected his lips to hers.She would’ve gasped if she could, but she couldn’t even pull away as his lips assaulted hers.They were soft and yet their movements were so rough.
