I’ve been staring out the window, but nothing looks familiar. Everything feels the same — trees, road, bushes. I think he’s just messing with me again, driving in silence like this. It’s his dumb way of proving I’m impatient. And honestly? I hate not knowing where we’re going.
He glances at me from the corner of his eye and I try to ignore him. All I really want is food and to stretch my legs a little.
“Where are we going?” I ask, resting my head on my right arm. “It’s almost been two hours.” I try to sound convincing. I feel tired just sitting here for so long.
I prefer it when we’re walking, moving fast from one place to another. I don’t like this — I feel like I’m being dragged along. I hate long trips with no clear destination. He doesn’t answer yet, just smirks like he knows something I don’t. I hate that about him too.
“Can’t you wait just a little longer, sweetie?” he says, and I narrow my eyes. There he goes again with the nickn
