Kevan reacted very quickly. Almost at the moment she closed her eyes, his hand came up and blocked off her lips. When Ruby's lips pressed against his cold palm, the rough skin of his palm caused her to open her eyes with panic.

She stared at his hand for quite a bit, stunned, before looking up into his deep, dark eyes.
