The next morning.

Veronica was watching the news with Sofia. And she was shocked by what she heard.

“Whoa, 6666 abortions took place yesterday?” Veronica was utterly baffled. “That’s ridiculous.”

“If they all happened just yesterday, how did these channels get the information so fast?” Sofia wondered.

“Maybe they have spies?”

“Which news reporters would plant spies in all hospitals and clinics?” Sofia said. “This news is probably fake. A thousand abortions is understandable, but this number is too much given our population.”

“You think so?”

“Yeah. My family owns a news channel, so I know these things happen,” Sofia said. “Someone must have paid these channels to publish the news to push some sort of agenda.”

Last night, Sofia also slept in Veronica’s room. In fact, they slept on the same bed. So, they became a bit closer in their friendship.

“Sofia, I told you about my husband, right?” Veronica said. “He sent me 1000 dollars. But my mom says it’s nowhere near enough to show his worry.
