Serenity buried her face against Jackson's chest all along the way as he brought her straight to the bedroom before placing her down carefully on the bed.

Serenity struggled to get up and said, "Listen to me, Jack! I've got something to tell you!"

"Okay," he replied quietly, but his fingers were already deftly loosening his necktie, and his eyes were locked on hers, "Speak, then. I'm listening."
