Sheila went to her room as soon as she got upstairs. Before she could close the door, Enid knocked on it. When Sheila saw her aunt, she asked, “Why haven’t you gone to bed, Aunt Enid?”
“How can I fall asleep when you aren’t home yet? Your uncle and I are your guardians while your parents aren’t around. We can’t sleep when you’re still outside.”
Enid entered the room with a smile and sat beside Sheila. She asked, “How was the movie?”
“It was great.”
“Did you come back right after watching the movie?”
“Yeah. It was already ten o’clock when we exited the cinema. Since Alex and I have to work tomorrow, we decided to head home to rest. That way, we’ll be in good spirits while working tomorrow.
“Alex had suggested grabbing a late-night snack, but I rejected him because I don’t eat late-night snacks unless I’m on night shifts.”
Enid nodded. She knew her niece was strict about her diet.
“Alex must’ve brought you back. Why didn’t you invite him in for a cup of tea?”
“Look at the time.
