“It’s okay, I was asking too much.”
Lana was a little disappointed, but she understood.
If she were in Camryn’s shoes, she would refuse a complete stranger she did not know or understand who asked to visit her home, either.
“Lana, are you free tonight? I’ll treat you to dinner to make it up to you.”
Trenton felt guilty for not being able to fulfill Lana’s first request, so he wanted to treat her to dinner.
He also wanted to test whether Lana had any feelings for him.
“It was an unreasonable ask anyway. You don’t have to feel guilty or make it up to me. I’d be happy to go out to dinner with you, though. Are you picking me up later, or should I call an Uber?”
Lana did not own a car. She usually took the subway to work because it was convenient and she could avoid traffic jams.
Wiltspoon was a big city, and during rush hour, the traffic was absolutely terrible.
Lana’s apartment was close to the subway station, so she took the subway to work, which was quick and convenient.
“I’ll
