Camryn could not help but laugh. “If Mom and Dad heard that, they’d be heartbroken and call you heartless. What do you mean they don’t care about you? They treat me so well precisely because they do.”

Her in-laws treated her well, but that was because they loved their son. She was their daughter-in-law and they wanted their son’s little family unit to be happy. Camryn thought to herself that God was not that unfair after all. After being abused for over twenty years, she was finally given some warmth by being allowed to marry Callum and gaining in-laws who doted on her like she was their own.

She no longer had to worry about being ravaged by the storms for the rest of her life. Her in-laws would back her up and shelter her. For this, she was particularly grateful to Grandma May.
