I heard Diana's heels clicking against the floor before she opened my office door without knocking, as always.
It was a common habit among the members of my family.
"Who does August think he's fooling with that little show? Does he really think inventing this marriage will make our father accept him onto the board?" she said furiously, pacing back and forth.
August might not have convinced anyone about the engagement, but he had achieved what he wanted: making Diana furious.
