As a sign of agreement, Gael holds out his hand to Saulo.

“I promise it will never come to that, Father-in-law,” he says with quiet confidence.

Saulo narrows his eyes, weighing whether or not to shake his hand. As much as he wants to resist, he knows he has no choice. What's done is done, and deep down, he should be grateful. His daughter may still be young, but at least she has fallen for a man who is truly worthy of her.
