Kate stayed silent, showing her anger silently. David pinched her nose to erase the line she was holding, 

“ don’t do this,” David said, but Kate was more stubborn than he thought would be.

Kate turned her face around and jerked away from his hold; David did it cute, he once again pinched her nose, Kate did once again turn her face from him.
