The next morning, Kate woke up in a cold and lonely bed. Beside her was Bastien’s shirt with his scent and a note:

Princess, I had to go to the city. Take care. I left you breakfast. Don’t eat too much chocolate. I love you…

Kate smiled and hugged his shirt. Despite wanting to hate him and stay away, every day she needed him more. She got up but felt weak; her throat itched and her head began to hurt.

—Mmm… I have the flu —she said.

She went to the kitchen, and on the little table was breakfast covered with a cloth. She ate a bit, but the sore throat didn’t go away. She returned to bed and slept a little more. When she woke up, she felt worse, so she went to the pharmacy nearby. She walked slowly; her head hurt a lot and she felt cold. She arrived at the pharmacy and bought some medicine. At one point she felt dizzy.
