After a few hours of napping, Bastien woke up. Kate was cuddled against him, breathing calmly. A smile formed on his lips as he brushed away the rebellious strand of hair covering her eyes. He gently moved it aside and ran his thumb across her lips.

Kate shifted slowly. Her long, black eyelashes fluttered as she opened her eyes.
