Late at night, Ella returned with Moira. They had waited for everyone—but no one came. Lucca, who was in the kitchen, heard them arrive.
—Miss Ella.
—What happened? Why didn’t anyone show up?
—Miss… it was chaos.
Lucca explained everything, word by word. Ella couldn’t believe it.
—No… that wasn’t Bastien. Bastien couldn’t have done that.
—I’m sorry, miss. I saw it with my own eyes. We all did.
—And Kate?
—She left. With Arthur and Jake. They’re taking care of her.
—STUPID BASTIEN!!! Baby, I want to leave. —Moira hugged her, and they went to pack their bags. Moira called her private jet—they were leaving that same night.
