Chapter 205

I didn’t hesitate to bound into the forest, chasing the sound of Breyona’s voice, the taste of her fear ripe on my tongue.

There was something wrong, something so very wrong with the way her voice coiled around my thoughts and squeezed the life out of them. It wasn’t through mind-link that I was hearing her, I was sure of it. No matter how hard I tried to dig past her wailing, to the connection that spanned between us, I just couldn’t.

Thoughts refused to form, each and every one shattering under the grip of her pleas.

‘It hurts, Lola! It hurts so bad—so bad.’ She sobbed and screamed.

I couldn’t think, not even to figure out where the hell I was going or whether or not I should slow down.

The forest cracked and trembled beneath my feet. Limbs like outstretched arms reached to grab me, tearing away bits of my fur and drawing blood. Even the pain was dull, like it too was smothered by Breyona’s voice.

Suddenly, she went silent.

Kimberly Stoll CardellaI knew Lola was running into a trap and the author made it seem so obvious that it made Lola look stupid. But I thought it was smart how the author used black magic to kill the witches…. It had to be black magic because killing out of hatred and revenge is black. Lola could have trapped them.
CasandraUnfortunately she did what she had to to survive. Asher will pull her back and she’ll come back from this. I’m not sure she could have done this pulling from the light. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Noel PirosJust finish this book already. I've been reading/waiting for updates for months. Can't even remember what happened earlier in the story or who some of the characters are. If you can't do regular updates, just wrap-up the story quickly & be done with it. It.....just.....won't......end!

Michelle Maynesshe is literally only 19 and she's only fell into a couple of traps that were very necessary. She's also very overwhelmed by thoughts of losing anyone. She's just trying to save everyone especially her love and her BFF. This is getting good.

2amazingIt's funny how evil hates when you use their own tricks better than they do. Luring her there and shooting her with silver arrows to try and kill her was fair. But her using her magic to actually kill them and now they scream foul. Smh
2amazingYes. The fact she asked permission to save Spence's life and didn't just impose her will on him shows her core is pure. She needed to survive and save her people.

slmarksberryI'm not giving her an out because of the situation. If she was a real leader instead of a hot head, she would never had been in that situation in the first place. She shouldn't be a queen or a Luna. She is to dumb to be either. It never one time occurred to her it was a trap.

Nel ClarkeAll she had to do was literally call on Breyona to see if it was a trap. I mean c’mon Lola you should know better than that now. I love this story but hate it when authors dumb down characters for the sake of the plot. Let them make choices and still be fuct, to me that is more terrifying lol
