Rafael's POV

After Kristen, Mason, and Sebastian left the room, I walked slowly to the table where my girlfriend was resting. I sat next to her, taking her hand and gently running my thumb over her knuckles. I looked at her closely for several seconds. The bruises on her face had almost completely healed; she only had a splint on her nose, and she still had the neck brace and sling, but apparently all those bruises on her skin were gone. My eyes filled with tears before I even began to speak.

-How are you, my love? I needed this moment alone because I wanted to tell you that... finally everyone paid for what they did... I avenged what happened to you and the death of our baby, maybe that will make me someone like them, but I couldn't let things go unpunished, my love. It wasn't enough punishment for them to rot in jail, I needed to see them beg for their lives, to suffer the same way you did...- I whispered, wiping the tears from my eyes as I held onto his hand.
