Yarl's chest pounded in shock. His initial glee disappeared instantly as his expression darkened.

He had not given Morticia much thought since the previous night as he had had to deal with Cranos' affairs. Morticia was still unconscious, after all, and was hardly a threat.

He had not anticipated Morticia waking up.

Had the poison in the Fiend Martyr disappeared? It was vital to remember that Cranos had been suppressing the poison in her the entire journey there.

Yarl's fear grew by the second. If Cranos' poison had healed, he would be in grave trouble. Yarl's murder of Cranos would undoubtedly have ramifications.

A few seconds later, Yarl turned to instruct Jarian. "Stand guard outside. I'm going to have a look. Remember not to let anyone know about the Fiend Martyr waking up. Also, don't let anyone into her room without my permission."

"Yes, Sir." Jarian nodded.

Yarl gave out a few more instructions and strode off quickly toward the cabin at the back of the boat.
