"What are you doing here, Auten?" Empress Heidi cleared her throat and rearranged her thoughts before speaking. "Why aren't you cultivating at the Jade Fairyland?"
"Father's dead. How could I be in the mood to cultivate?" Prince Auten spoke in a tone laced with grief before turning to comfort Empress Heidi. "Don't be too upset either, Mother."
Empress Heidi flashed a pained smile. "I'm glad you came to see me so quickly."
As she spoke, Empress Heidi cast a glance at Master Magaera next to her before saying, "There's something I need to talk to you about, Auten. It's a pretty big deal."
"What is it?" Prince Auten was startled, caught off guard.
Empress Heidi exhaled softly, her exquisite features hardened into a solemn expression. "Your father is not here anymore, but the Godly Region can't go without a ruler for much longer. Would you like to take his place and become the next emperor?"
