Mona walked out slowly. Her features were flushed red in embarrassment as she spoke in a barely audible whisper. "I went to see Darryl Darby that night. I wanted to see the Power of Bird Ancestor for myself."

Mona was far from fond of Darryl, but she was a straightforward person and did not want any misunderstandings.

After all, whatever happened that night had been mainly her fault.

Colori Phoenix shook her head. "You're far too young to understand those things, Mona. Of course, you would not know what the Power of Bird Ancestor was capable of doing. Darryl Darby might have been wounded, but he held the Power of Bird Ancestor. He was perfectly capable of controlling it.

"What I'm saying is that if Darryl Darby had not wanted the Power of Bird Ancestor to catch fire, he could have put it out in no time at all. He watched your clothes burn on purpose."

Colori Phoenix cast a look around her. "Darryl Darby's actions that night were all done on purpose."
