After a few seconds, she landed at the bottom, and what she saw stunned her. The humongous scaled dragon was all coiled up like a mountain, and in front of him was the handsome Darryl, meditating.
'What's going on?' Veron could not process the scene at all. 'Why isn't the scaled dragon attacking him? Wait a minute. Is it guarding Darryl? No, it can't be!'
Darryl opened his eyes when he heard the movement, and rage surged through his heart when he saw Veron. 'D*mn it. She must be here to see whether I've been eaten alive or not.' He squashed his anger to not reveal anything on his face.
"Darryl? How are you still alive?" Veron asked quizzically. She could not figure out how Darryl was co-existing with the scaled dragon so peacefully. It was too confusing.
Darryl chuckled and said, "Why wouldn't I be alive? You must be so disappointed that the scaled dragon did not eat me alive." Then he stood up and said, "I'll be honest with you. I can communicate with it, and it was in a good moo
