Chapter 5

“Are you listening to me Victoria? Because I've been talking to you for a while and I think you're not paying attention to me” She shook her head as she heard the voice of the Arab calling her and she was just coming back from the clouds. She had remained suspended, floating... The memory of her had already stopped hitting her head.

“I'm sorry, what were you saying?”

“That the money has already been transferred to an account so you can now dispose of it, here” She gave him a card.

“Is everything here?”

“Everything is there”

“Okay thanks”

“We're talking about a million dollars, Victoria” She looked at him in amazement, at first she had only asked for half a million dollars but now she supposed that the figure had doubled because she had not only sold her virginity anymore.

“So much so?”

“It is only the first part”

“What?”

“Don't look at me like that, I try to be fair for everything you're doing for me”

“Sure, but... We still don't know if I'm pregnant”

“You are, you already are, believe me, wait a few weeks and get tested, but go get used to the idea that it is a yes” He glanced at her quickly as she returned her focus to the road, the crowded streets of New York.

“Alright” Soon they had reached the outskirts of her house. Before she could get out of the car, the man grabbed her forearm and made her turn to look directly into her eyes, she didn't understand what she wanted to say and why he was holding her back.

“Wait, I won't be at home these days so if you want to communicate with me you will have to do it through a video call. I have a lot of work abroad, take care of yourself, I'll be very aware of you, even from a distance” he promised as she allowed him to get off.

He could only nod, anyway he didn't really care about her, but about her life that was probably already installed inside her.

That day he took advantage of going to the hospital to see his mother. Yes, she had told the doctor that she would go the next day in the afternoon but she couldn't bear to spend more time without seeing her mother. He missed her so much that she just wanted to be close to her and hold her, never let go.

“Doctor, I was just calling to let you know that I'm going to see mom tonight and spend a few minutes with her, I also have to tell you the good news about her”

“Of course, the payment has already arrived, they informed me from the administration”

“OK. But, I haven't done it yet” she confessed, staying stunned, listening to the doctor's words. She still hadn't made the payment, how was it possible that the debt was already settled.

“I don't understand. She will come to give her the good news, and I tell her that everything related to your mother's treatment has already been cancelled”

“Okay, I'll go in a bit”

“Alright”

She squeezed her eyes shut and blinked slowly trying to figure out how this had happened. That Arab invaded her head again, removing the unknown from her, so she was determined to call him and ask about it.

After two attempts in which she failed, because the tycoon did not answer her calls, she threw herself face up on the bed and left the device next to her. He surely was very busy and that's why he hadn't picked up the phone.

Meanwhile he began to get ready, he was just about to finish putting on his jean pants and sneakers.

“Hello, Victoria, if you're calling about the hospital, yes, it was me, I paid for your mother's treatment, don't raise any objections, this is all part of your payment. Sorry, I have a lot of work, we'll talk later, take care” Then she hung up on him.

“What?” She tried to call him again, but he sent it straight to voicemail. He cursed under his breath, obviously not going to take her call again. So she finished dressing and after making sure to feed the cat, she flew to the hospital.

Two months later...

Victoria hadn't gotten up very well that day. In fact, she had woken up on the wrong foot, she had dizziness, nausea and a terrible headache that did not go away with anything. She just wanted to lie on the bed and not be bothered by anyone.

“Don't worry, is it a serious problem?”

“No, calm down. Nothing important, I love you”

“And I to you my girl, I love you very much, we are in contact”

Victoria felt a powerful dizziness again, so strange that it shook her from head to toe, it was terrible to feel that way, as if she were sick, but deep down, she knew that the reason for all those symptoms was really leading her to the irremediable, a pregnancy, just the goal of the Arab come true. She still felt nervous and her heart was beating non-stop.

From her A lump rose in her throat, just thinking that inside her there was already a life growing, she was also terrified of the demands that man would make, once her pregnancy was confirmed.

She walked from one side to the other in her room, looking for a way to recover the tranquility of finding that serenity so demanded by her system but right now she was a bundle of nerves. She felt a knot in her stomach and the tears were already beginning to accumulate in her eyes to soon overflow them onto her cheeks.

She went into the bathroom, washed his face, brushed his teeth, and then took a short shower. Then clinging to the sink that was in the bathroom and looking at her reflection in that mirror, she broke down again. She had no experience but she knew that pregnant women go through a roller coaster of emotions and that was what she was experiencing right at that moment, she felt depressed, sad and scared. Everything was uncertain.

Before informing the millionaire about her state of health and everything she was experiencing, she made the decision to go to a pharmacy, the closest one in the city, and buy two pregnancy tests.

Fortunately, the man she attended to was not the usual gentleman, who knew him due to his frequent visits, whether it was to buy some medicine from his mother or anything else he needed.

The best thing was to find out for herself before anyone else.

She left the pharmacy feeling more nervous than ever, also with the paranoia in her head that walking from her all her eyes fell on her but it was only her head pointing at herself. The truth is that people were focused on their own business, she was also not the first nor would she be the last to go through a similar situation.

Victoria followed the instructions, after the indicated time, she turned the test.

“Positive. You've got it Rashid Ansarifard” she blurted out looking at the mirror, shedding a few tears.
