The moment the car stopped at the mansion and Cory got out of the car, a figure appeared out of nowhere.
Out of reflex, Cory grabbed the person's wrist and pinned them to the car. His eyes gleamed murderously.
"It's me … Mr. Sloan." Jane looked frail. Even her tone was feeble. The pain in her wrist caused her to pale a little more.
Cory furrowed his brows and asked coldly, "What do you want?"
"I-I've been trying to thank you in person, but Benji said you wouldn't see me."
Jane furrowed her brows. She tried to turn around to look at Cory. "I heard that it's your birthday today."
Under the moonlight, Jane's skin glowed like porcelain. Tears welled up in her eyes. She was gorgeous. Extremely gorgeous.
Cory's gaze darkened, and he let her go. He asked in annoyance, "Where did you hear that from?"
Jane clutched her wrist and turned around. She leaned against the car to support herself. "I overheard the housekeepers talking."
Seeing Cory's face, Jane was a little unsure of herself.
