Aylin looked at him for a moment longer, with that expression between concern and tenderness that she only showed him. Then she put the cup down on the table and sighed.
“Don't leave angry with Sasha,” she said quietly. “You'll regret it.” I know you care about her a lot. And she adores you, even though she's being unbearable right now. So don't leave like this. Try to make peace.
Eros didn't respond immediately. He stared at his coffee, as if he could drown himself in it. Finally, he looked up, but he didn't smile. He just nodded slightly.
“I'll try.” Aylin sighed again, not even close to imagining everything he wasn't telling her. She stood up and shook her head as she picked up her cup. Eros stood up. “I'm going to talk to Sasha. Don't you dare not say goodbye to me.”
He left the kitchen without waiting for a response, leaving his sister alone and himself with his thoughts torturing him... and a lump in his throat.
