Chapter 62 —The Return

Narrator:

The return trip was longer than Aylin would have liked.

From the moment they boarded the private jet, she noticed the change. It wasn't just the absurd comfort she suddenly found herself in, nor the fact that Dominic and Roman acted with the same calmness as someone taking a regular bus.

It was the way everyone looked at her.

"Welcome, Mrs. Adler," said the first flight attendant with a professional smile.

Aylin blinked, feeling a chill run down her spine.

"It's not... you can call me Aylin," she corrected awkwardly.

The man barely nodded before turning away and continuing with his duties.

Minutes later, someone else offered her a glass of wine.

"Mrs. Adler, would you like anything else?"

She clenched her teeth.

"Just water, thank you."

The assistant withdrew, and Aylin quickly turned to Roman, who was sitting comfortably beside her, checking his phone with an expression of utter disinterest.

"Tell them not to call me that."

Roman didn't even look up.
