He darted toward Pearl without hesitation and dragged her toward him so roughly that the chair tipped over, making Pearl fall onto her side, still bound to the chair. Stephen didn't let go, though. He continued dragging the chair with him as he backed away, which in turn resulted in Pearl's skin scraping against the ground. Even in her unconscious state, the pain made her wince.
