Darius took one step forward, turned to
face ahead, and entered the conference room.
The lead security guard froze with a blank
look. It took a long time before he snapped to his senses, rushing up to Darius
while his eyes darted around the space.
Then, he smiled warmly at Darius and said,
“Before we assign FT TV’s new successor, I’ll serve you to the best of my
abilities. That’s pretty much how things will go. In any case, I’m more than
happy to be at your service.”
A frown briefly appeared on Darius’ face,
but he did not say a word since he knew the lead security guard beside him was
telling the truth—those were the security guard’s genuine thoughts.
However, that was unnecessary to Darius,
who only hoped to gather the television network company’s higher-ups into the
conference room at once; only then could he relax and do what he wanted. Even
though he felt anxious, he did not show it; even the muscles on his face were
relaxed the entire time.
