By the time his brain processed what had happened, it was too late. Darius’ attack came at him faster than he could react, and all he could feel was a blast of cold air. It seemed to stab him, and the darkness slowly started to lift.

The man had built a globe of darkness around Darius with his energy, and when he saw that Darius was starting to break out of it, he had no choice but to give it up. If he didn’t, Darius could follow the trail of his energy to its source.
