Jane stopped the car in front of the homeware store.

“You stay here, Rebs,” Jane said. “Benjamin and I will go.”

Rebecca was not expecting her to say that, but she didn’t have anything to refuse her, so she nodded.

Benjamin also didn’t have anything to tell Jane that Rebecca should also come along, so he didn’t say anything, either. But he did look a bit disappointed that Rebecca wouldn’t be entering the store with him.

Rebecca just sat in the car, wondering, “What’s this girl up to?” As time passed, she was getting weird thoughts. “They are not going to do anything weird in the store, are they?” A few more seconds passed, and her thoughts drifted everywhere. “Does this store have a bathroom?”

The thought of Jane pulling Benjamin into the bathroom upset Rebecca because Jane and Steve were basically engaged. She didn't want Jane to mess up her relationship. So, she decided to enter the store as well.
