Chapter 29: Attack

“WHY IS it better, master?” Maxine asked in curiosity as she placed the tumbler on the white table between them.

Maxine knew that she shouldn’t ask for more. The more that she asks for more questions, the more that Charles would reach his limit— and it wouldn’t be good for his health. 

But Maxine couldn’t help it. She’s the only one who knew about Charles’ real situation, and even though she worked for him for a long time, she still couldn’t decipher how her master makes a strategy about everything.

She just found it slightly ridiculous to let August think that he was just an ordinary employee— a fake son that Charles hired for his own greed, even though he was the one and only heir.
