Ray thought it was the drunken man and wondered when the latter had suddenly found the courage. He looked through the peephole and saw that it was actually Lauren.

Was he surprised? Not at all.

If anything, Ray felt a little puzzled that his ex-wife had taken until today to come looking for him.
