Ryker pulls me out of the room. A woman in her late forties instantly greets us.
“ Hello Alpha. Luna. ” She throws me a polite smile.
As a formality, I return her gesture when in reality, I feel so awkward.
“ I think it will be better if Luna rests for some time, Alpha. ” She turns to Ryker.
“ Get back to work Luciana. ” Ryker dismisses her coldly.
The woman leaves our way, letting Ryker haul me out of the huge infirmary. I glance at the woman from over my shoulder, knowing she must be the pack doctor.
“ Why must you be so rude? ” I mumble under my breath.
Ryker doesn’t answer. Instead, he releases my wrist and intertwines our fingers.
I glance down at our hands and let out a sigh. He knows how to shut me up without even saying anything.

I can’t help but notice the way he walks, without making any noise with his feet. It’s as if he floats in the air, swift and sneaky but powerful nonetheless.
