Stella's POV The night was bitterly cold as we got into the car to return to my house. Traffic felt slower than usual, and every second inside that vehicle made the anxiety in my chest tighten. Jonas, sitting in the driver's seat, handed me my phone. "Miss Harper. Mr. Winter asked me to return this to you," he said, passing it over. I took it with trembling hands, the cold metal sending a shiver through me. I nodded silently. When we pulled up in front of the house, my heart nearly leapt out of my chest.
