“Dad, what do you think?” Maddie asked Kaden.Kaden put his utensils down and took out his phone to pull up his photo album and look for the group photo of himself, Everly, and Sonny. He passed his phone to Maddie and asked as he pointed at Sonny, “What do you think about this young man?”Maddie’s eyes lit up when she saw the photo of Sonny. She asked with a smile, “Dad, who is this? He and Evey look like a match made in heaven when they stand together. They look really good together, and he looks like a healthy young man with an extraordinary aura. He must be an outstanding person.”“Naturally. He’s the York head missus’s nephew and his mother is the matriarch of the Jensburg Fishers, while his stepfather is Wiltspoon’s Lewis & Co.’s big boss. Evey and I went on that business trip this time for our collaboration with Lewis & Co.“He’s in charge of managing Lewis & Co. now. His name is Sonny Brown, and apart from managing Lewis & Co., he has his own company too. He’s a very outst

“Callia, do you have to go to work? Don’t you have to keep studying?”Chester was reluctant to part from Callia and he added, “If you go to work, you won’t have time to come see us anymore. What if I miss you?“You won’t be home even when we come home on winter break. Even if you had to work, you could do it in our family’s company. We could just get my mom to arrange for a well-paying job with a light workload for you.”The more Chester thought about it, the more he felt it was a viable idea. That way, Callia would stay here for work, and every time he got off school and went home, he would be able to see her, unlike previously when all they could do was video-call or wait until Christmas to see each other.Callia chuckled. “I can further my studies while working. If you miss me, you can video-call me. And I’ll definitely come home for the Christmas holidays.”If she wanted a well-paying job with a light workload, there would be plenty of people who would arrange one for her if s

Xavier said frankly, “And how am I supposed to coax you? Should I make a bottle of formula for you and feed you while I carry you? When you were still young enough to be drinking formula, I did that often enough.”Chester was immediately left speechless and his childish face flushed red.It was true that the youngest of the York boys had been taken care of by these older boys until they grew up.“Chester, have you finished your summer homework? Didn’t you say you wanted to go back to Wiltspoon? If you haven’t finished your homework, you won’t be able to enjoy yourself to your heart’s content even if you go back.”Chester replied, “I already graduated from elementary school and I’m starting middle school after the holidays, so I don’t have any homework.”It was just that Chase had dug out his middle school books for Chester to learn from and had bought a lot of workbooks for him to complete after self-studying every day. Chase would even check them after coming home from work.It

Hand in hand, Xavier and Callia strolled further down the shaded path of the backyard. The O’Connors’ residence was not quite Wildridge Manor, but the scale of the place was massive. It was quiet in the backyard with tree-lined paths, a little bridge over trickling water, and a winding pathway. It was pure bliss just to take a stroll in the area while catching the breeze. Austin had two sons, and the younger was twelve, so the manor was quiet. At times, the leaves rustled against the blowing wind, breaking the silence of the backyard. “Do you want to take a seat?” Spotting the gazebo up ahead, Xavier asked Callia tenderly. “Alright.”Xavier pulled her along to the gazebo. “This brings back memories. You couldn’t walk straight when you were one, but you ran behind us anyway.“You fell when we were running around your family’s manor. Heath wasn’t the one to pick you up. It was me. We tried to make you stop crying before the adults heard you.“You were everybody’s darling.

Ring, ring…Xavier’s phone went off. He glanced at the caller ID and told Callia, “It’s Heath.” Callia gestured for Xavier to take the call. Xavier mumbled, “Shouldn’t Heath be busy? Why does he have time to call me?” Still, he accepted the call from his future brother-in-law. “Xavier, Koben and the others are on the flight. They will be arriving three hours later. You need to pick them up at the airport.” Taken aback, Xavier said, “So soon?” Heath replied, “Soon? Koben has been talking my ear off about getting there, but I didn’t have time to take him since we were expecting guests at home. I managed to keep him down until today. “Koben has been nagging for days that he wants Callie. You didn’t tell him that you were going over, so he had to wait for a few days before traveling to Uncle Austin’s.”Xavier replied, “He’s permanently attached to Callie. I can’t have a decent talk with Callie when he’s around. Koben never leaves Callie alone. The thing I can’t stand the
