“In fact, Noelle’s going to love whatever you get her.” Chloe said, “Noelle isn’t materialistic. It’s the thought that counts. If you could make something for her, I bet she’d love it.” “What should I make her? A bath bomb? A gourmet meal? Play a song on the piano, or sing a song?” Chloe remarked, “After summer comes fall, and fall turns to winter. It gets pretty chilly once fall hits in Havenmill, and you will need a sweater for the season. You can always knit a sweater for Noelle. I promise she’d love it.” Laurence said, “Chloe, just kill me. I can do anything but knit a sweater. “Even if I were willing to learn, I wouldn’t even know who to ask.” Those around him were not short on cash, so their outfits were tailored for them. Their purchases were high-end, so no one would know the first thing about knitting. “There’s bound to be someone who knows how. If you put your heart into it, you just need to ask around and learn.“I’m nearly at the office, Laurence. I got to go

Not one to get in Chloe’s way, Devon sat on the sofa in the guest reception area. The secretary poured him a drink and asked, “Is there anything more you need, Mr. Ormond?” Devon murmured, “That’s all for now. Thank you.” “I should get back to my work.” The secretary glanced at the lunch box and whispered, “Ms. Johnson has a meeting half an hour later. It’s going to be an hour long.” Devon got the message. He had to squeeze in a few minutes within the half-hour slot to get Chloe to take the broth. Otherwise, Chloe would not have time for a little break at all. “Thank you.” Devon expressed his gratitude to the secretary once more. The secretary excused herself. Devon got up and entered the pantry, emerging with a bowl. He went back to the sofa and opened the lid of the container to pour the broth out. His eyes shifted to Chloe, who was focused on the job. She probably forgot that he was even there. Chloe did not have to work too hard since she had brothers to sha

“Relax. I’ll get you a teacher if that’s what you want to do. Once you learn how to knit, I expect a sweater from you too.” Devon said, “Of course, I’ll make you one when I’m done learning. Still, can I make one for Chloe first?” “The first one can go to me since you’re just learning. It won’t be your best work for sure. I won’t judge your poor knitting. You get some experience after knitting a whole outfit. “Then, you can knit Chloe one. Save the best for last.” Devon felt that Iris had a point. He said, “Alright. You get first dibs. I’ll make one for Dad too. It’s still a long way until winter. Winter isn’t as chilly here anyway. We don’t get many cold days. “Once it gets colder, I’ll have a sweater ready for Chloe. I’ll give her a surprise.” Iris chuckled. “Good luck, kiddo. You have my support. It’s been years since I’ve seen anyone knit. I can’t believe my son is getting into knitting. “Thanks to Laurence, I get to wear a sweater made by my son.” Devon uttered, “

Noelle would be over the moon to receive a handmade sweater from Laurence. Still, there was no telling when Noelle and Laurence would ever start dating. Jane was not worried about her children’s relationships. However, Laurence was already in his thirties. Yet, he got nowhere close with Noelle. “Laurence cares a lot about Noelle.” “I know that, but he won’t tell her how he feels. Noelle’s the same. It’s clear that her heart belongs to him, but she puts herself in the position of a maid, which frustrates Laurence to no end.“Laurence often calls Chloe for advice, not knowing what to do, and Chloe loves to take a good jab at him.” Iris sighed. “Laurence is only keeping his feelings to himself in case something goes wrong during his quest for revenge. He might die and break her heart.“Noelle is just as stubborn. The legendary doc took her in with the intention of them keeping each other company. She insisted on becoming his bodyguard and maid in return.” “They have a long,

“We don’t get a say in our kids’ marriage now. Just let them be. I’ll keep working for a few years before retiring. When that happens, we can travel around while we still have the energy.” Work consumed their time when Jane and the others were young. Once they were to retire, they could ditch the kids and go to places on their bucket list. Jane wanted to be like her parents, who traveled the world after dumping the family responsibility on her brother. They were only back once or twice a year, too absorbed in their vacation. “That’s a plan. Let me know when you’re visiting family. I’m going with you.” “Alright. I’ll let my aunt know, so she’ll stick around. Otherwise, she’d go over to my cousin’s.” Jane’s aunt often went to her daughter’s place. Most of the time, Jane would not be able to run into her aunt back home. “Sorry for all the trouble, Jane.” Jane replied with a grin, “It’s no trouble at all. Besides, my future son-in-law is doing this for my daughter. I’m happ
