Emma's POV

Those two handsome idiots thought they were going to intimidate me. I'd been through this before, and I wasn't about to let them get to me. Still, Adam defending me surprised me. I knew he didn't like me. He was a strange man.

After I explained that I wouldn't go out with either of them, Adam nodded, though his expression looked dark, almost annoyed.

"I understand, Emma. Either way, you shouldn't have to put up with that kind of stupidity."

"Don't worry, Mr. Keller. I'm fine.
