Darryl's heart was thumping wildly in his chest while anxious thoughts rushed through his mind. He had no idea what the Nine Heaven Emperor and Empress were talking about at all. 'They must be discussing how to put me to death. I don't blame them, though. I would be angry too if my precious daughter got defiled, but then again, it was not like I wanted to do it!'

He wanted to cry, but there were no tears. Suddenly, he heard footsteps. They belonged to the Nine Heaven Emperor and Empress, walking back to the main hall. He started to panic but chose not to reveal it on his face.

The Nine Heaven Emperor and Empress Heidi sized Darryl up. The atmosphere had become heavy and subtle.
