He slowly opened his eyes just a little and glanced at Gale.

"Big... big beauty," he said, then closed his eyes, drifting back to sleep. He felt so exhausted, and every part of his body ached. He had no strength left.

"I'm here. You go ahead and sleep. There's nothing to worry about now. I'm safe, and so are you," Gale replied.

Joshua did not respond further, peacefully drifting into sleep. He slept so calmly and obediently. Gale leaned down and placed a kiss on his forehead.
