Jane was indeed wise.

At least she had now escaped this abyss of misery and lived a simple, but honest life with the man she loved.

Right when she was thinking about Jane, Sabrina’s phone rang. She held it up and saw that it was a call from Jane.

For some reason, her eyes immediately became wet. Tears streamed down her cheeks in rivulets. A strong sense of understanding and sympathy for the other woman’s similar encounter gushed into her chest. Sabrina barely managed to suppress the despair that accompanied such a realization.

A minute later, when the ringing was about to stop, Sabrina successfully calmed herself down and answered.

Her tone was peaceful and clear. “Jane, is that you?”

Jane’s voice came from the other end of the phone. “Sabrina, I’m just calling to let you know that I’m safe and healthy, and also to tell you that I can’t pay you back at the moment. Because even though me and my current boyfriend both work, we can only earn around two hundred dollars a day…”
