"Flávio"
When Chief Bonfim suggested I go to the specialized police station in Porto Paraíso, working alongside him, I didn't imagine he would actually arrange my transfer. It was a highly sought-after police station, many police officers wanted to go there, and I might not have been the most qualified.
But Bonfim arranged my transfer there with the snap of his fingers, or rather, with one phone call. I was very excited; he unintentionally solved several of my problems. I would be promoted, moved to a larger city, to a specialized police station where I would have a lot of operational work, just the way I like it, and get away from my parents' interference. This job fell out of the blue.
I would return to Campanário just to complete some paperwork and then return to Porto Paraíso for good. I was already at the airport waiting for the plane to be cleared for takeoff. I took the opportunity to call Patrício and find out who that woman I saw at Mellendez's company was.
