—Have you been able to find out anything about the person who’s attacking us?
Bastien asked as the smoke from his cigarette curled in his hand. Lucca lifted his eyes from the laptop and nodded.
—Not much, but something. The firefighters who put out the fire said that the next morning a man showed up looking for Elizabeth. He demanded to take her away. He seemed very affected, threatened them, and they had no choice but to put what was left of her body into a bag and hand it over. The man took it and left in his car.
—So that means it’s a man behind all of this.
—Exactly.
—Did he give any description? Or did you try to check the surveillance cameras?
—I tried, but it was four years ago. They only keep footage for a year. As for the description, he said the man was tall but wore sunglasses, so he couldn’t see his face. He did say his hair was black and short.
—That’s very vague. He could have grown it out or dyed it. If we only knew his eye color or some other feature…
