Andre looked at Adrian’s carriage and panicked. He and Matteo were close. Naturally, he worried about him and wanted to go to him right away.
“What happened?” Andre asked.
“The wheel is broken.” The coachman looked wronged. He had checked the carriage before departure. It was all good and sturdy then.
Adrian said smilingly, “The scenery is beautiful here. We should take a rest. Let’s catch some game and put them on a bonfire. I’m sure you’ve never tried that.”
“I can’t eat right now!” Andre was panicking. All of the carriages were full, and they could not even fit one more person. “I’ve given my promise. I can’t go back on my word.”
“This was an accident.” Adrian smiled. “We’ll let the coachman take a look at it. It’s futile for us to panic, so let’s just enjoy life a little.”
