Serenity was puzzled at first, but quickly realized that the person he was talking about was Mary – before her disfigurement. She had seen a photo of Mary when she was younger, and Caden bore a striking resemblance to her. After a few more years, they might look even more alike.

"Jack, regardless of how you feel about Mary, Caden is our son. You shouldn't..." Serenity paused, carefully choosing her words.

Jackson spoke up first, "Don't worry, I won't take it out on him. You risked your life to give birth to Caden. All three of our children are incredibly precious to me."

Serenity felt relieved. After a moment, she continued hesitantly, "Edward and Mary called me because they saw the news. Mary even wanted to come back to Solaria to see you, regardless of the consequences. Jack, I believe Mary has been living in regret every day, and I think she might want to make up for her past mistakes with her life."
