Capítulo 4

JOE BANDIT POV.

"Can you believe how fast the game is coming?" asked John, as we walked to our lockers.

"No, and I'm very excited that we won, " said Gio in a confident tone.

John Jones and Giovanni Giordano are my closest friends. John and I have been best friends since kindergarten. We approached Gio when he moved to the United States from Sicily and started school here at the beginning of the last year. We were the best players on the team in all the sports we played. It sounds disgusting to me to think that, but it was true.

All three of us were offered a full trip to any university we'd like to go to. John, Gio and I decided we wanted to play for the University of Alabama. I already told my parents and John too. Gio, on the other hand, has stagnant to tell his family. He said he's going to take a lot of convincing his grandmother to come to an agreement that would allow him to stay in America until he graduates from college.

I smiled and was about to respond to Gio's comment, but I stopped when I saw Chasity Dawson in his locker, with her friend Payton and Madeline. I'm surprised you agreed to help me when I texted you last night. I was nervous about asking you because I thought it would be hard to get him to say yes. Fortunately, I was wrong about that part. In the end, the hardest part last night was trying to get his phone number.

I couldn't ask my parents for their phone number because I didn't want any more questions asked about why I wanted it. So, I decided to wait until midnight, to pick him up myself at my father's office. He had everyone's file in his office. When my parents finally went to sleep, I sneaked out of my room and went into my father's office using a secret door on the wall that connects to my father's office. When I finally managed to enter silently, I looked through the filing cabinet, which contains information from each of the employees who work for my family. The strangest thing was the fact that I had a hard time seeking Mrs. Dawson's request. I checked the other drawers on the filing cabinet and couldn't find them.

It took me a while to find the file and when I did, I was surprised. It wasn't how I found him, it was where I found him. The shocking thing was that it was in my mother's desk drawer; in his office, which was right in front of my father's office. If you knew what I was doing, I would ask you why Mrs. Dawson's folder was in my mother's; but since you don't know what I'm doing, I decide to keep this to myself for now.

"Chasity, " I said with a smile, as he shouted his name.

She and her friends, along with everyone else, looked at me. Gio and John looked at me bewildered by the reason I called her by name.

"I'll see you guys later," I said, as I patted John on the back and started walking towards Chasity.

They, along with everyone else, had never seen us talk to each other before, and until yesterday, that was true. I started walking towards her when she heard me shout her name. His friends seemed surprised to see me coming, they quickly whispered something with a smile and a smile. Then he left, which fortunately left us both, to be alone to talk.

"You look great, " I said, as I kept in front of her.

She just smiled and looked down, sticking her hair behind her ear. The denim jacket, on top of its white V-neck T-shirt, paired nicely with its black high-waisted jeans. His black sandals matched perfectly with him, along with the backpack he had tied to his shoulder.

"Have we really gone back to the 'don't talk' thing?" I asked her with a smile when I realized she didn't answer anything.

She laughed a little and shook her head. "Thank you for the compliment. Now, what did you need help with? "

"Come with me to my locker and I'll show you," I replied, as I nodded in the direction of my locker.

When we stopped in front of my locker, I opened it and looked for an envelope in the back of my locker, hidden under an old math textbook. I knew it was safe here because no one would go into my locker and play a math book. Then I turned to Chasity and gave him the envelope. Inside the envelope were pictures of my family. They were honest photographs, and many of them were as if they didn't know someone was taking them. The creepiest ones were the ones that looked like they were taken out of our window.

That gave me the creeps.

"What is this?" Chasity asked with clear confusion on his face and in his tone.

"Someone has been harassing my family and me, " I said in a tone that showed a little fear.

I didn't mean to say it, but this scared me a little bit. It was really creepy and I want to tell my parents, but I can't; at least not yet.

"That's really creepy. How long has this been happening?" he asked, emphasizing the word 'really' for me.

Years, " I said in a tone of fear; emphasizing the word 'years' for her.

His eyes widened "What!"?" he exclaimed aloud.

"Please keep your voice down. No one can know about this, " I said in a slightly demanding tone.

He quickly looked back and then and smiled timidly "Sorry."

I felt a little relief at being able to finally talk about this with someone. I've kept this a secret for years, since the day I found the first envelope.

"No one else can know about this," I said, making sure I emphasized how important it was for her to keep it a secret.

"Why didn't you tell your parents?" he asked as he looked at the pictures.

"I don't want you to worry, " I answered as I denied his question with his head.

"I feel like this is the kind of thing you have to tell your parents," he said, as he showed me a picture I've seen several times.

It was a picture of my parents eating together at the dinner table, and the picture looked like it was taken from outside the window.

I shon with my head: "Whoever's doing this is someone close to my parents."

"What makes you think?" he asked, as he kept looking.

No había ningún otro extraño allí.

"No estoy seguro", respondí.

Ya he escrito los nombres de todos los que vinieron ese día, incluido el personal. Necesito averiguar quién está haciendo esto, porque si alguien está planeando lastimar a mi familia; se están metiendo con la familia equivocada.

Yo protejo el mío.
